Low-income families face the constant threat of hunger, unemployment, and hardship, with little hope for the future.  

At Oasis, a struggling mother can gain education and skills to find sustainable employment and get access to food, clothing, and psychosocial support to meet immediate needs and improve her family’s future. Children can find a safe and loving environment after school, where they’ll get the academic help and support they need to succeed in school and in life.

About Oasis

Oasis is a nonprofit organization helping women and children rise out of poverty. Our team works from a four-story building in Paterson, New Jersey, serving families in the greater Paterson area. 

Oasis provides food, clothing, and counseling to help women and children meet their basic needs. We provide educational classes for women and academic after-school programs for children to help them thrive. 

We address the inequalities facing women and children who live in poverty. 

For over 25 years, we’ve been committed to the idea that every woman and child deserves the opportunity for a brighter future.
